Spending our last day with strong, humble, and loving people
is a great way to end my time in Honduras.
As we walked the streets in Los Pinos I kept asking Father
to lead our team…and that He did.
It was a moment that will be engraved in my spirit as we
worshiped together with Mabel. She is a woman who has chosen to continue
worshipping her Father in spite of her body becoming weak due to cancer. She
continues to believe that her body will be healed…let us join in her faith. She
has found the fountain of true joy, our Father. Therefore she is able to smile
in the midst of her circumstance because her joy is not contingent on
possessions, people, or health but on the One who calls her beloved, our
Father.
As Noemi shared her life story with us three words came to
my mind “strength in Christ”. Her past is filled with hurt and pain. Four
months ago she walked into her home after a days work. Upon opening the door of
her home she found her husband dead. He took his own life. She was saddened,
for lack of a better term. Yet she chose to continue believing that her Father
that created her continues to be worthy to be trusted. She instills this to her
children, desires for them to walk with our loving Father, and prays to see
this come to be. She will not give up on her children she believes that they
have a future. I worshiped along a virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31…what
an honor!
Through out our day we were able to worship along seven
families. I’m sure the Father was smiling as our praises reached His Presence.
We ended the night spending time with the boys and girls at
Zion’s Gate. It still makes my heart smile when I think of them.
It was a joy to spend time with Carlos, a young boy who has
been rescued from the streets. We spend an entire day together. He shared his
life story with us. To see a young boy who once walked the streets asking for
money, experimented with drugs, and had no direction in life now speak of our
Father’s love, how we can do all things to Christ brought tears of joy to my
eyes. At the end of our day he wanted something to remind him of our
friendship. He chose a necklace with a heart and key. He couldn’t stop saying
how much fun and how grateful he was for the day. All I tried to do was show my
Father’s love…because Carlos is loved beyond human comprehension by our Father
and so are you.
Wherever you may be in life the Father says, “I love you
just as you are my Beloved”.
Until we met again Honduras…
