The time has arrived! Bright and early tomorrow morning I will be loading my car with all of my new camping gear and making the 7-hour drive to Gainesville, GA, where I will begin the long-awaited World Race Training Camp! Actually, the official camp starts on Saturday, but I am heading down early for a women’s retreat, making my trip 11 days long. I find that wonderfully appropriate–11 days to prepare for 11 countries in 11 months.
I have so many emotions right now. I’m over-the-moon excited to get started on this adventure, but I’m also absolutely terrified. In less than 24 hours I will be meeting some of my squad mates, and by Saturday I will meet all of the people that I will be spending the next year with. Plus, I have to camp (outside. in a tent.) the whole time. Holy moly. The weather report is showing a great forecast of constant rain, so get ready for some fantastic photos of me braving the elements.
I’m sure that the next few weeks will be wonderful, and potentially life-changing. Please pray for me as I travel tomorrow and as I get my first taste of all the craziness that is the World Race. Training Camp is sure to be, if nothing else, memorable.
I don’t have much else to add right now, but please check back in a couple of weeks to see lots of photos and stories from my time in Georgia.
It’s time for an adventure.
Ready, Set, Go!
