This month took a turn fairly early off in the month. Our team was so excited to connect with University students at University of Botswana. Shortly after we started our evangelism, strikes started to take place and the campus was closed indefinitely. All university students are given monthly allowances to pay for rent, food, books, etc.. I think the allowances are similar to Student Loans. Most of the students rely on the allowances throughout their four years of university, and contractually they are unable to have a job. Many of the students were forced out of their dorm rooms and traveled home to their villages hundreds of kilometers away until classes resume. Instead of doing University evangelism we have been doing door to door evangelism, and working with teens and youth groups.

Our excitement for these new opportunities grew.   I think the Lord’s plan has been panning out better than what we could have expected. I actually really love door to door ministry. People are more receptive to us because we are coming into the comforts of their homes or work. Our church called Gaborone Community Chapel is a church plant out of Kenya. Our team has seen countless people come to Christ, share struggles and explain to us their walks with the Father. Growing up in a Christian home, I personally saw myself walk away from the church in an attempt to discover how I wanted my life to pan out- relying on myself really. It seems as though many of the people we are meeting grew up going to church, but never made their relationship their own.  I have learned these last couple months how cool it is to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I am seeing how valuable it is to sit and listen to other people’s stories; what an honor it has been to walk alongside some of the Botswanan people and see break through. Our job as a Christian is simply to love one another. As my newest friend Riley would say “GOD RUNS AFRICA.”

February: the month I turn a quarter of a century old. This month may have its challenges but I am certain this life is exactly where God wants me to be.

Please pray for our team as we travel to Bloemfontein, South Africa on the 26th (yup, my birthday!!) We will be working with Eden Recovery Centre; focusing on drug abuse and mental health. What a strange coincidence that this was the area of focus during my career in Nashville.

Pray for unity among our team as we step into South Africa. Please pray for an increase of hearing from the Father. Pray for the remaining funds for the World Race to be raised quickly for myself and about 20 other of my squad mates. Pray for the salvation of the people of the 11 countries our squad is touching.

I ask you to give financially. Even if it is $10.00. You aren’t just investing in me. You are investing in the kingdom of God and Him being glorified in 11 countries. If you feel led to support the World Race and global missions, you can do so through my blog! I am in need of $410 to become fully funded!
