I’m lying on the bottom bunk bed with echos of laughter, and
little squeeks in Thai from the girls in the dorm.
I’m living with the girls for the month.
I love it.
My bed is totally girlified!
My sheets are smothered in bright pink, purple, and yellow
flowers and butterflies.
There are about 30 beds in the dorm I’m staying in, and half
of them are filled with girls, because the others have gone to their villages
to visit their families for a month.
We got two new girls today. One looks about 6 and the other
is about 9. The 6 year old is quite vivacious and outgoing. The 9 year old is a
bit more shy and reserved.
Two new girls that are saved from the evils of the sex
trade.
Two more girls who will now have a hope for a bright, and
loving future.
Two more girls who can make a positive impact on the Thai
economy
Two more girls who will be exposed to the love of Christ in
a tangible and real way.
Before the girls at Remember Nhu eat, they say something in
unison. Rick, one of the men who have sacrificed his life to do construction
projects for Remember Nhu told us today that they are reciting 1 Corinthians
13.
I want to be a vehicle of showing them that true love.
I just finished singing songs to both of the new girls, and
making up a dramatic bedtime story that dealt with magical fingernails and
horses that hug. (They don’t understand English so my stories can be as
ridiculous as possible).
This prevention side of the sex trade is quite miraculous.
I’m blessed to be a part of it
this month.

Us girls just got in from an amazing dinner with one of my
squadmates friend, who lives in Chiang Mai.
It was an extremely special treat! You know those times when
you just feel like a beautiful princess? (or handsome prince?) That was how us
girls felt tonight, with all the special treatement.
Well it rained and thunderstromed, and one of the new girls
was crying. She cried a couple nights ago, and Natalie was able to comfort her.
Well tonight it was a beautiful scene to walk into the older Thai girls, here
at Remember Nhu, comforting the new girl.
To see the care, and tenderness they show their new “sister,
was so heartwarming. I believe it’s a foreshadowing of the future of this
country.
Girls will learn to love each other with a Christ-like love,
and protect each other from the evil all around.
God’s love conquers all.
