22 kids?!
From 2 kids to 22…that’s the change from last Sunday to
yesterday’s service. The increase was because of the carnival the day before.
There were at least 10 new adult faces at church as well!
I went to my last Sunday in an “underground church in
China. I am going to miss it dearly.
Yesterday we also had our last party. There were about 40
people who came. It was a lot of fun, and we had a lot more space to hold
people this time, because we arranged our apartment in a much more party
friendly way.
I remembered an icebreaker game that I played with my
students. “Get to know you Bingo. I thought it would be a great game for the
students to meet other students. Only thing I didn’t realize was that I
couldn’t explain it clearly in Chinese…
Fortunately, my new Korean friend, Sung Il A was there to be
the hero. He is probably the funniest Korean kid I know. (Though I don’t very
many).

But I recruited him to have the extremely important task of being the
“game explainer. I forgot for a minute that he is Korean, and not Chinese…but
he is studying Chinese culture as a major, so I just gave him more practice. =)
He did a great job! (Video coming soon)
The three winners of the game got a tin of cookies, and a
bracelet from the Philippines. We showed the students the video of what Threads
of Hope does, and of what we did last month in the Philippines.
The winners were so very touched by the ministry, and
extremely grateful for the bracelets.
I met three girls who told me they were eager to study the
Bible, and learn more about Christianity. Us A Team Remix ladies hope to meet
up with the girls this week to study together.
Then my team went to Jake and Steph’s beautiful apartment to
wind down, and eat some delicious cake that Steph is awesome at making. It was
a good, long, and fulfilling day.
Jake says “Monday begins Sunday.
Monday is our “free day. So I got to sleep in today till
8:30 am.! And I’m so glad I finally got to blog. Our days here are so busy, and
full of “go, go, go. It’s difficult to get back to the apartment and write,
because all I want to do is SLEEP!
Well today us ladies are having lunch, then getting our hair
and nails done. It’s a drastic difference than last Monday when we went to a
tiger park here in Harbin.
The tiger park was AMAZING! We were in a van surrounded by
tigers all around us. There was a man in another vehicle, who had live chickens
and pheasants, and he threw out the animals for the tigers to chase after and
devour…. it was pretty awesome.

I was in heaven… I LOVE tigers.
Last Monday we also went to an area called Central Street.
There is large Russian influence in that area. It’s a huge shopping complex,
with buildings based on Russian architecture. It was beautiful…also because it
SNOWED!

So this our last “free day, and we’re gonna take it easy
today. Though I might do something crazy with my hair…pics to come. =)
