This is from the mouths of Wesh and Joel.. I just pushed the buttons…They are two of the amazing kids I have been privileged to meet.. Listen to their stories and messages with the ears of your heart…

Hi, I’m Wesh and I wanna tell you that umm..I want to talk a little bit about my life.
So, I came here ( to Canaan) 8 Years ago and at first I didn’t like it here, but now I’m thankful I’m here.
I didn’t want to be here because I wanted to stay with my mom, I didn’t want to stay away from my family. But I had to because they brought me here. I never asked my mom why.

Im thankful to be here, because I have a home. I go to school for free, and I eat good food. My favorite food is hamburgers, and when I go on a field trip I eat them there. I like to talk to the girls…because they are fun, not only the girls, the boys too, but mostly the girls because they are fun.

“Do they know I’m a boy?”

(Wesh is a boy who is 12 years old..and I said “now they know Wesh..”)

So, I’m in 7th grade (He’s an extremely bright boy).  And I like it (as he shrugs his shoulders). I like umm.. i forgot what I was about to say. When I grow up, I want to be a pilot for commercial planes. And I hope that God will help me…umm..get my degree and whatever I need to graduate.

So I’m gonna talk about how I met God..

Well it happened, I was talking with a friend of mine, about every kind of thing. Then he told me lets talk about God. And so, we start talking and then he asked me if I was a Christian. I said “yes”. He asked me “why do you say you’re a Christian?” I said “It’s because I go to church every day and I don’t do bad things often.” But he asked me “Does that really make you a Christian?” I said ” I guess.” So he took his Bible and he showed me a verse in the Bible, i forgot the exact verse, but it said something like doing good doesn’t make you a Christian or make you go to heaven. And so I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. And I got saved. I became a better person. and I understand the Bible more, and I know what God wants me to do…like love others, and be merciful. O.K.? that’s it.

So that’s my message…Accept Jesus…if you’re not a Christian

This is Joel’s story (He’s 13):

When I first came to Canaan, I didn’t know anybody. I just knew some of them and I met a friend friend and now we have become good friends. He’s in Canaan with me now. And he’s a cool guy. We talk about some stuff and what we want to be when we grow up.

One day I woke up, but not in Canaan, and my dad said he was going to introduce you to a place we will sleep there for a few days and come back.  And one day he sent me here, for I don’t know what reason.. but I like it here. So.. the end.

If I could tell you one thing. This is it. Trust in the Lord because God is the only one who can help you with everything.
