Umm.. yea.. so it looks like I’m really going to need this stuff…(old blog)

Hello friends,
So.. going away for 11 months is something that has many practical needs. I mean, when I go away for just 2 weeks I carry like one and half luggages with me!
This world race will have no such luxuries. I’m gonna have to stuff my life in a 4200 cu backpack!!!! How this will be even possible will just have to be another one of God’s miracles! But here is a list of some of the items that I will be needing for the trip, and hey..since the holiday is right around the corner…it’s worth a mention. We have not because so often we just simply ask not.
1. $14,300- cost of the missions trip (with a click of the “Support me please!” button to the left, you will be making a tax deductible donation. EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS..seriously..) ***** This is the greatest need******* (besides tons of your prayers)
2. Internal Frame Backpack 4200cu- 5000 cu with sleeping bag compartment and a front-loading panel. (with a breathable back or something like that)
3.”Pack duffle” or an “Airporter.” This is a giant duffle that protects your backpack when you check it for flights.
4. A daypack- a regular sized school pack. (on my wish list at www.magellans.com)
5. 2-person, freestanding light weight, 4-6 lbs, tent (rain fly for the tent).
6. “Footprint.” This is an extra piece of material that goes between the bottom of the tent and the ground to protect the floor.
7. A sleeping pad is necessary and not the place to save money. Get something that is good quality, comfortable, and durable. This is your bed for 11 months! (that’s exactly what the site says…ahhhh! I’ll miss my queen size mattress)
8. A sleeping bag that is rated for at least 35 degrees.
9. Small Pillow (on my wish list at www.magellans.com)
10. Sheet or Sleeping Bag Liner for Warm Weather.
11. A pair of shoes for everyday wear. Consider a trail-running tennis shoe. They are lightweight and have good support, tread, and durability. Shoes will need to be worn in some communities for sanitation reasons. (again direct quote..ayayayayaaaaiii)
12. A pair of good sandals. Many racers prefer Chacos, Tevas, or Keens. You will probably live in these shoes for the entire year. ( I have NEVER heard of any of these companies…and once again direct quote… ahhhh!)
And so those are the MAIN items. Being a true city girl, I have NO idea where to even begin to look for this stuff! But it’s a good thing they gave us these websites:
My missions minded cousin introduced me to this site which has pretty awesome traveling products! I was able to find a lot of the other items that they strongly recommend I take along with me here:
www.magellans.com (then click on wish list and type in my email address [email protected])
Thank you so much for stopping by, taking the time to consider, and venturing along with me <3333
