in word or tongue, but with actions and in truth” 1 John 3:18

This missions trip coming up in July is so exciting! I wake up every
morning, and go to sleep every night pondering the possibilities of
what I will encounter. The dozens of people I will get to meet and
serve…

but it’s 8 months away…

What am I doing in the meantime?

Am I loving people that I meet everyday on the street, in the store, at my job?

Do I dare to assume that people in my circle now don’t need the same love and service as people around the world?

If I keep my eyes open and let the Holy Spirit lead me, He will show me
the immense need all around me. And how I could love and serve them
today.

A miraculous “love” button isn’t going to switch on when I leave for overseas.

I want the agenda of my life, what I wake up every morning wanting to
do, be to LOVE people. Love the annoying teenagers screaming on the
train, love the arrogant or unjust boss, love the store worker with the
really bad attitude, love the homeless man or woman in the city.

Love starts now. This moment in time is all we have. May we be mission
minded beginning today. And not just talk about how we’re GOING to
“love” those, but start loving NOW.. Wherever God has placed us in this
moment in time, and wherever He will place us in the future.

With a new agenda to love,
