As many of you know I am a planner and like a schedule. However, this last week contained neither and I was a little stressful at the beginning. Everything was on a need to know basis and I had to let go of my regular routines and embrace each day as a new and unique one. We slept outside in our tents in the rain, we camped under the stars, we shared a tent and sleeping bag with someone and a communal tent. I had to learn to rely on someone else and ask when I needed something. I caused out squad to grow closer to one another and closer to God. I saw so many lives changed this week and God moved so much!
I learned so much about myself and to let go of the small things go. I gave them to God because He is in ultimate control of my life as much as I like to think I am, His plans are so much greater and better than mine will ever be. I met so many amazing people that challenged me to grow in my walk, to break my walls down and to trust in the Lord’s plans for my life. This next adventure, wild ride is His hands.
In addition, I had to embrace community. I love being around people, but also dearly love my alone time. While at camp I had little alone time and as an introvert it was difficult at times. I learned to communicate when I was overwhelmed and needed space to process.
I met my team that I will be apart of for the next 11 months. I cannot wait to make memories together, be in community with them, encourage one another, and to love on God’s children. Pray that God stretches me and molds me to be more Christlike.
