Hi! I suppose you're here for My Story. Well, picture me in a small farmtown in the Midwest, long braids & jelly sandals . . . actually, that's a little too far back, I think. Sometime between then & now I crash landed face first in the state of O-H-I-O, graduated from college & decided I wasn't ready to settle down to the 9-5 business day routine. God was persistently calling me to something different, something out of the ordinary. I had no idea what, though.
All through my college years, I felt a growing desire to be able to give of myself to Christian ministry, wholeheartedly & passionately. Through incredible people I've met along the way to Christian radio stations to facebook stories, I've been awakened to the reality of God’s working around the world & I want to be a part of it!
I want to be the one holding the hand of the precious woman, a prostitute, who has never heard the name of Jesus, & share with her the true & living hope of salvation.
I want to be the one caring for those orphaned by HIV & AIDS; every child should know that he or she is wanted & loved by God.
I want to be the one working side by side with faithful servants of God, missionaries on the field, uplifting them & encouraging them through another day.
Enter the World Race. Honestly, the whole idea seemed a little too crazy to be true. Whaaat? Living out of a backpack for 11 months through 11 countries? People don't really do that kind of thing, right? Apparently . . . they do. And I'm going to be one of them.
I’m so blown away by the response of so many others in my generation to God’s call on their lives! In the midst of all the world’s turmoil, God is transforming individuals & communities. What is He doing in Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, India, Nepal, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia & Taiwan? I’m going to find out! Maybe He’s calling you to go too! It’s time for us to live radically, to embrace our mission & to make a difference for God.
