I am so excited for this opportunity God has presented me! I know it will be challenging, but definitely worth it. My first major challenge is that I need to raise $15,500 in order for me able to go, so I'm asking YOU, my friends and family, to help out in any way you can. My hope is that God will call you to partner with me in this ministry.
My first request is just that you pray for me! Pray that God will provide all the donations I need to be able to live out this dream of traveling the world while serving him and spreading the Gospel.
I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting me financially as well. Here are some ways you can help:
- Make a one-time gift. There's a link on the left of this blog to 'support me,' as well as directions for how to mail a check in if you prefer that. If you pay with credit or debit, 5% is taken out to cover credit fees. Bank withdrawls take out 3% in fees. So if possible, sending in a check will help me to put 100% of your gift toward my goal.
- Make a reoccuring monthly gift. To make your donation more manageable you can break it up into monthly payments, spreading your gift out over (up to) 10 months. (I must be fully funded 6 months into the race, so 10 months would be the max you should do).
- Be a 'Dollar-a-Day Donor'! This is an idea I took from a teammate–to try to get as many people as possible to commit to donating $365. If 42 of you were to become 'Dollar-a-Day' donors, I'd be fully funded! What can you get for a $1 really? You can choose whether or not to make this a one-time or reoccuring gift.
- Purchase something off my registry at www.myregistry.com. The $15,500 will cover the majority of my expenses on the field, but there are several other costs I'll be responsible for and items I'll need to purchase to prepare to live out of a backpack/tent for 11 months. This is a great option if you want to support me in a specific, tangible way. You can search for my name and then see the items I'll need, or make a cash donation towards things like flights to training camp and launch, international health insurance, vaccinations ($400, yikes), etc.
- Pass my blog along to anyone you know who may be interested in supporting me on this journey. If you're involved with a church, organization, or business who may be able to sponsor me I would love to talk with you more about the World Race! I'd be more than happy to come speak with your group as well. You can click the 'Contact Me' link on the left to get in touch.
- Attend my fundraising events. I'm in the process of planning several fundraising events both in Philadelphia and in Emporia and will keep you posted! If you have any brilliant fundraising ideas, please send them my way!
Seriously, every little bit helps, so even if you can only give $10 I would GREATLY appreciate it! My first fundraising deadline is Oct. 1. I have to have $3,500 raised by then in order to attend training camp, and I already booked my flight to Georgia, so PLEASE donate soon if you can!
