Let me start out by saying.. I’M FULLY FUNDED!! People, God is so good and always faithful. The whole idea of “fundraising” was foreign to me and I actually had no idea what I was getting myself into when I committed to this mission trip. Going out and asking people for their money was something that did not sit well with me as I hate asking people for anything. But, just as God has promised, each trial comes with valuable lessons that help us grow in our relationship with the Lord.
God showed me how stepping out of my comfort zone was a necessary thing. Instead of relying on my parents, I needed to rely entirely on God. Instead of believing in myself, I needed to fully believe that God is on my side and can make all things possible. Because I stepped out of my comfort zone, my faith has grown dramatically these past 6 months
God showed me just how generous His people are. I honestly am still in shock of the amount of financial support I have gotten from family, friends and people I haven’t even met before. It is the best feeling knowing that I have a team of people that believe in me and have decided to partner up to fulfill His purpose and expand His kingdom.
So with that being said, THANK YOU TO ALL MY SUPPORTERS!!
Now, let’s talk about training camp.. I recently got back from a 10 day camp in Gainsville, Georgia to prepare myself physically, emotionally and spiritually for my 9 month trip. Let me just start off by saying that meeting 50 strangers is absolutely overwhelming. Not too much of a surprise though, we all became family and it was so refreshing being around a group of people my age all sharing the same passions as I have for helping others.

Although all the excitement from meeting everyone whom I will be traveling the world with was incredible, the 10 days were definitely the hardest 10 days on my life. From the Georgia heat/humidity, bucket showers, food for 4 people that we had to share between 8, packing and re-packing all my belongings into a backpack every day, and all the different field scenarios they put us through, it was rough.
I survived though and can look back on that experience and see how life changing those 10 days were and how God completely transformed my heart during the process. Now all I can think is.. Just how much can God transform my heart in 9 months?
It’s crazy how stepping out of my comfort zone and into God’s hands, is when I experienced God the most. It makes me vulnerable. And this my friends, is a good thing.
Anyways, that’s just a little update as to what is going on in preparation for this trip. I leave September 7th to THAILAND and would love if you continued to pray over my trip! If you have any more questions, please email me at [email protected].
xoxo,
Bethany
