travel to my grandparents for a weekend full of family, food, and fun. There
are always many pies, leftovers and laughs. It is loud and crazy; I LOVE IT! Today,
instead of waking up in PA, I woke up in India. The cooking began almost
immediately; toasting bread, peeling carrots, cutting onions, etc. It was an
adventure full of modifying recipes that called for herbs that India doesn’t
have, exhausting our propane, running between the kitchen, porch, and fridge,
and making five dishes using three burners. In the end the Worthy Warriors sat
down (an hour and a half late) to a Thanksgiving feast!
As much as I miss home right now I know there are so many
things to be thankful for: indoor plumbing, FaceTime, hosts who love us well,
and of course my wonderful family and friends! This year has brought many new
experiences and passport stamps, but best of all it has brought six new
sisters. They are the beautiful, strong, and brave ladies of my team.
I wish that you all could meet them and give them big hugs!
They are truly wonderful. So here is to each of my teammates!
Catniss- You, our fearless leader, are loving, kind, and
wise. You love the Lord with all your heart and that shines SO BRIGHT!! When I
need wise counsel or just want to tell you about my dreams you are always
there. I love your random bursts of silly! It makes me laugh every time!
Desire- Dang girl, you are straight up a model! I love your
smile! You are the sneakiest card player ever and super great at math. You always are willing
to serve and do so with a joyful heart. You are super kind & have such a
big heart for showing Christ’s love!
Ms Watson- You are sass-tastic. At first I didn’t know how
to take it, but I think it’s beginning to rub off on me. You are a fabulous
teacher. Every time we have ministry with kids you become their best friend. I
love how you steal compliments and talk positively about yourself. And you tell
the best stories!!!
K.G.- Man, you are so much fun to be around. You make
connections so effortlessly and are so witty! I love how you challenge us to
reach our fullness in Christ. You see potential and help nurture it. Whether it
is holding babies, praying over people, or playing games with the kids your heart
always shines through.
‘Murica- You are so sweet and fun! You are great at nail art
and really art in general (including cross stitch). Most of all I love your
deep desire to grow closer to God. You have such a passion in your heart, don’t
lose that! And never forget that you are set apart; you are the bride of
Christ, deeply loved!
KRob- THANK YOU!!! You really excel at Logistics and it is
great to get travel information “hot off the press”. You are super funny, there
is never a dull moment with you around! I love bouncing cooking ideas off of
you, your never-ending love for all things Christmas, and your passion for
cheese. I am sorry we couldn’t make your fondue tradition happen for
Thanksgiving.
