It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so here are some pictures to wrap up months 1 & 2!
Cote d’Ivoire:
We were with another team, Kaleidoscope for month
Here are Brittni & Kelsey G hanging out at the Villa.
The dining room/living room, all fancified for a birthday dinner!
Jon, from Kaleidoscope cheesing.
The children’s ward at a government hospital that we ministered in. We had the opportunity to pray for the children and their families.
Jon constantly fell asleep in the car! It was too funny not to capture!
Me and KRob sharing our first Shawarma from a local food stand. It was DELICIOUS!
The youth that we worked with for the month threw us a going away party.
Des and Brittni playing soccer with some kids that were at the restaurant.
During our last few days we went to the Abidjan Zoo & met an adorable elephant who loved to take pictures & always wanted to check if we had bamboo to give her.
When she saw that we had no food she quickly lost interest.
Here she is giving me an elephant kiss! Or maybe checking to see if I’m edible…not sure which.
Ghana:
Grace Life Ministries
This is part of the school/church. They are finishing the second floor.
KRob & Des in a Trotro (minibus) on our way to Accra Mall to go grocery shopping.
At Accra Mall. “Hawking” means loitering. I thought it was funny…
At the Botanical Gardens. This is a Strangler Fichus Tree, its host tree bit the dust so now there is a cast of the host tree on the inside of the Strangler Fichus Tree. Here Cat climbed up on the inside of the tree, Kelsey climbed the outside and KRob is standing on the ground. The tree was massive!!
Osofo Calvary with KRob, Jenna, and Des.
Carved tree
On Monday we carried blocks up to the second story of the school/church for the construction workers. This is all of us, minus Cat who was home sick, showing off our muscle after carrying the cinder blocks. We are totally BA.
Jenna carrying a teacher’s baby.
The Primary School kids finishing their Physical Education.
Me and my class (3rd grade). Once I got the camera out they all went crazy! They really like to make peace signs and block their faces with them for pictures. I don’t quite understand why but it sure is funny!
Me and Erica walking with Osofo Calvary to dinner.
Worthy Warriors with the Royal Oak Academy teachers.
We celebrated 50 days of the World Race! Kelsey and Jenna prepared surprise gifts for everyone on the team which they gave out at breakfast. I usually left breakfast early so I could teach so it was as shock when Kelsey popped into my class to give me a coke during my lesson.
Group picture by the stream on our hike. This is just before a HUGE incline…it was rough but we made it.
Praying over Des before she got baptized at Boti Falls. It down-poured when we reached the falls so we were all soaked before we got in the water.
Group picture after Des’ baptism!
Our final Sunday in Ghana with Grace Life. We wore our matching African outfits.
