What's next??
Just a few days ago I returned from Atlanta where I met up with my squad for what's called ‘Project Searchlight.’ Adventures In Missions facilitates this week for all squads who have just come off the field. It’s a week of debriefing the past 11 months, processing what returning to ‘normal life’ looks like, spending time in prayer and worship, receiving one on one coaching, and an opportunity for networking with alumni and staff for future steps that The Lord is calling you to. It was such a fun week and being reunited with my U Squad family was just what I needed.
It was day three at Project Searchlight. God was so very clearly moving in me this day, and it was a feeling and a stirring in my heart I just couldn’t ignore. The whole week we had been hearing speaker after speaker who talked about picking up our cross and following Jesus. We heard over and over again the sacrifice that it was to follow Jesus, because after what we’ve tasted and seen this past 11 months, there are just some things that don’t fit together anymore.
The past week in Atlanta was an eye opener and a time that I heard from The Lord so clearly. I love the God that we serve, because he knows the most intimate spaces in our hearts, and he works all things together for our good. I made a terrifying decision, but I know its the RIGHT decision.
So, I’m happy to announce that I have accepted an invitation and in just ONE MONTH, I will be headed out to Mijas, Spain for 6 months, the first steps in a lifetime of ministry. G42 is a network of Christ-followers with the mission to plant churches, businesses, and ministries to spread the Kingdom of God around the world- to inspire and develop leaders who are passionate about giving their lives to the Message of Christ.
G42 will be six months of discipleship, community, education, learning and growth. This is a place that will continue to ignite my passions, unleash freedom, and then send me to the nations. I am confident that God is leading me in this new season of my life. This is not a six month leadership academy, its the first six months to a lifetime of ministry. Even though I am sacrificing, God is working in my life, opening doors, and honoring me as I have strived to honor him.
For those of you who know me, you’ll know that I’ve always had a passion for the lost and broken, maybe because I can also relate to them. I have dreams and visions of bringing hope and joy back into the lives of the weary, by investing in their lives and equipping them with the tools to ignite a passion inside of them, all in the name of Jesus Christ. G42 will be a place that I will be mentored and poured into by some of the most admirable and fierce Kingdom followers from around the world, while living in a community of other believers and dreamers who will support me and fight for me along with the way.
I am confident that this is the first step in my lifetime of ministry, and I know full well that God is going to bless my time in Spain. I am honored and privileged to have been called and invited to this amazing place, and I am ready to take full advantage of every second and opportunity.
While on the race, I experienced an umbrella of support and prayer every second of my 11 months on the field. It was a kind of love and support that radically impacted my race.
