Swaziland was a beautifully blessed month. I fell head over heals for Gods master piece on top of the mountain that almost seemed as if heaven was in reach. This children's village was carefully crafted over the years by Gods faithfulness and his volunteers sent year after year.
About 60 kids live on the campus. It's a safe haven of love and shelter on top of a mountain in the middle of Swaziland. Donkeys, pigs, geese, dogs, goats, aunties, laughing children, smiling babies, lush vegetable gardens, breath taking sunsets, a school, a clinic, a church, volunteer housing, and a whole lot of Jesus filled the property. It was a month of childlike fun and deep encounters with the Holy Spirit that made month 10 on the world race one to always remember.
Throughout the month we expanded the vegetable garden, invested in the children, worked in and painted the preschool, loved on the babies, worked in the clinic, and did administration work for the organization.
Each person on the squad was partnered with a "buddy" for the month. We would focus on just that child the month and spend two hours a day with them….. Helping them with homework, playing, and speaking truth into their lives! Nick was my buddy. You'll see him in the video below. We formed an unexplainable bond and be captured my heart in such a deep and profound way. He brought so much brotherly JOY to my heart, and I'm already awaiting the day I get to go back and visit my sweet boy.
I was Apart of the food team which consisted of myself and 3 other squad mates. We were in charge of cooking for the squad, and driving an hour into town twice a week to grocery shop. Keeping the kitchen clean, prepping and cooking for meals, and shopping twice a week was almost a full time ministry in itself!
God did some crazy and deep work in my heart while In Swaziland. Here is a small glimpse of the wonderful month in the video I put together. Enjoy!
