I’M IN BEIJING CHINA!!
We are all settled in our hostel in Beijing! We’ve been flying for a couple days straight now. The time seems to all mush together that I’m not even sure what day it is or what time my body thinks it is, but I’m HERE!
The planes were definitely the biggest planes I’ve ever been on. MASSIVE! The second plane from Korea to Beijing was a double decker. We definitely stood out with our white greasy traveling skin and hair, and not to mention our jaws dropped to the floor. The meals on the plane were amazing! I usually don’t like airplane food, but these meals were sooo good. Bonus!
I won’t bore you with small details, but I will fill you in on my first crazy adventure on The World Race. After getting off the plane in Korea, we had to walk down a few really long hallways to go through security again before we could get to our next gate to Beijing. After walking for awhile and getting in the security line, I realized that I left my next boarding pass on the airplane. NOT GOOD. We had a short layover, so panic mode started setting in. Long story short, Zach (my squad leader) and I began SPRINTING through the airport with all of our gear to then find the doors closed and locked to our plane. So then we SPRINT back to then try to find someone who speaks english to tell us how to get a new boarding pass printed out. We made it, with sweat DRIPPING from head to toe. We got to our next plane and both Zach and I wanted to throw up.
Lesson learned.
I’m about to head to bed, but I just wanted to let you all know that I’ve made it safe to China. Tomorrow afternoon we get on a 19 hour train ride to take us to our final destination in Harbin, where we will be spending the month. So much traveling!
I wanted to thank you guys for all of your support and prayers. I can feel them! Keep them coming! I wouldn’t be here without YOU! I’m almost fully funded. Spread the word.
PRAYER REQUESTS….
Team/Squad: Energy, Positive Attitudes, Safe travels to Harbin
Personal requests: Having peace in my heart for what God wants to do through me on this trip. Surrendering all my control and giving it to HIM.
Goodnight friends,
Bethany
p.s. I can't log into facebook here….. or any other form of social media for that matter. We are not exactly sure why, but assuming there is some sort of hold on it for out of country travelers. So for this month I'll be in touch with ya'll through my blog and my email!
