It has been starting to
hit me more and more that this is really happening.  As I’m winding down parts of my life here, I’m having to
gear up to be ready for this upcoming journey.  Today and tomorrow are my last two days at Borders.  I’ve already started saying my goodbyes
to some friends.  And I’m trying to
determine if there is anything else I need to get before I leave.

I had my vaccines this
week.  The travel nurse, Linda, was
so great; she loved her job and that was evident by her knowledge and the way
she treats her patients.  She had
asked me how I was raising the money to go on this trip and I mentioned the
bracelets.  When she heard about
the bracelets she made me go get some from my car so she could sell them there
at the hospital for me.  So Wednesday
afternoon and Thursday morning Linda sold bracelets to coworkers and
patients.  That was so awesome!

In other exciting news,
one of my friends I have known since high school has been accepted for the
January World Race.  When I told
her about the World Race she was excited for me but then started looking into
it for herself.  I think it’s so
great that Kelsey will be in the field at the same time as me come January.
