I became a Christian when
I was nine years old. I had that child-like faith of believing in Jesus because
the Bible said it was true.
I grew up, went to a
Christian high-school and graduated from a Christian college. All these years I remained a Christian.
Yet one thing I lacked.
The core of the gospel-
“Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am
with you always even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season,
Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2
“Do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your
ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:5b
I was not replicating
myself and making disciples, let alone sharing the gospel.
I claim to believe that Jesus is the one and
true God, yet never proclaim
it.
I claim to have the key to freedom and
eternal life, yet let the world be condemned to hell.
I claim to have a heart after God’s heart,
yet hardly take time to feel
his heart for the lost.
On the World Race, I have
been pushed and stretched to share the gospel and it has been the most
rewarding thing to ever happen to me.
Every time I share I think myself,
“This is what it means to be a Christian”
“This is what it means
to live for God“.

This week our contact here in Malaysia piled us into his van to go on
an hour and half ride to a community.
Once we arrived we were told we would be going door to door. The first house we came to, we took our
shoes off at the door , walked in to meet the family, and sat down. Our contact then looked at us and said
share the gospel in five minutes.
Share the gospel to these people that have never heard the
message of Jesus Christ ever before!
READY, SET,
GO!
Let’s just say I sat there with my mouth open in shock as to where to
start. Thankfully one of the girls
on my team spoke up.
The next house we went to I was the one to share.
When we entered the house, we could smell incense burning. An elderly lady emerged from a room
where she had been kneeling in prayer to the gods. She shook our hands as tears started forming in her
eyes. We sat down in a circle and
I began to share the love of Jesus Christ.
The lady was broken because her son had recently died and she could
not go throughout her day without breaking down. I shared the love of a Savior that is close to the
brokenhearted, a Savior that desires to take her pain upon Him, to have a
relationship with her, and to know her deeply.
I felt the power of God upon me. I knew the words touched her and we
were able to pray over her before we left. My heart was broken over this precious woman. I felt God’s heart for her and His
compassion in that moment and I was overwhelmed.
This is what it looks like to live for Christ.
This is what it feels like to have God’s heart.
Let your prayer be that you can speak this verse and have it
be true in your every day life:
“But His word was in my heart like burning fire,
shut up in my bones. I was weary of holding it back and I could not.”
Jeremiah 20:9b
