The last few days have been very powerful and profound in Manzini. We finished up with training, and began exploring our options for ministry sites. One of the last things we did as a part of our preparation was creating team names and identities. My team includes: Gina S, Cristie R, Elizabeth S, Brooke W, Jenny B, Jessie P, Gabrielle R, & myself. Because we are all ladies and extremely strong leaders, we have chosen the name “Daughters of Zion”.
TEAM NAME – Daughters of Zion
The name has a depth and calling that could be missed if you look just as the surface. Daughter – We know what a daughter is, but to understand that you are a daughter of God, the King of the Universe, and are born into his family, and given access to his inheritance can be a powerful name placed above you. Zion – a city and mountain found in the Old Testament of the Bible. It is a historic location, but it is also the name of the “New Jerusalem, the city of God that will come at the end of the world. Therefore with our name we are declaring ourselves daughters, residents and inheritors of the Kingdom of God. YEAH I know, deep and heavy. So on the days where you just need a quick name to refer to our team, you can just call us D.O.Z.
MINISTRY SITE #1 – Refilwe, South Africa
We have been given our first mission! We will be headed out to Refilwe (
Re-fil-way), South Africa. We will be working with a camp ministry, doing minor construction, and preparation for a children’s Day Camp. Then we might also spend some time working with ministries in Pretoria, South Africa, staying at the beautiful Alabanza. We will stay in S. Africa for three to four weeks. Our goal is to leave Manzini on Wed or Thurs of this week.
Thank you to all of my faithful readers. I am inspired and motivated as I hear from all of you. The love, encouragement and passion that pour into me just from simple comments and e-mails is full of life. Thank You!
Love you guys!
Beth
