What?!?!

Oh my gosh!!!

Thank you, Jesus!!!

This was my initial reaction after being fully funded.

Let me tell you how it happened…

On June 24th, I was talking to my mom on Facebook. She asked about the remaining balance that I needed before July 1st. I told her I was still needing about $1,694. I went into the bathroom and began crying and praying to God:

Lord, my mom shouldn’t have to borrow money to help me reach this goal. Be who I know you are. My provider. You called me to this journey and you told me you would equip me and provide for me. I trust you, God. Please provide.

On June 29th, I was talking to my teammate, Sabrina Weneck. I was telling her that there were 2 days left until the deadline and my account balance had only moved a little bit. She encouraged me and posted something on her Facebook to her followers about the financial need of our team. I felt defeated. I felt like I had done all I could do and that I was just waiting on God but I felt anxious.

I’m reading a devotional by Beth Moore called Praying God’s Word Day By Day. This is what it said for that day,

Have you sometimes experienced defeat because you refused to calm yourself in the presence of God and trust Him?

God, You are my refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. I will be still and know You are God. You, Lord Almighty, are with me. You, God of Jacob, are my fortress (Ps. 46:1-2, 10-11). A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, are You in Your holy dwelling (Ps. 68:5). I commit my way to You, Lord; I trust in You and You will do this: You will make my righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of my cause like the noonday sun (Ps. 37:5-6).

God’s word is beautiful. This was exactly what I needed to read and speak out loud to help align my head with my heart. I felt a peace about the deadline and about God providing.

Later that day, I was talking with Tammy Jo, one of my squad mates and old teammate, about the deadline. I shared the Beth Moore devotional with her. We shared our hearts about finances and that we trusted God to provide. We know that God is always on time but sometimes its hard to keep believing when you’re in the middle of the storm. We listened to some worship songs to help lift our spirits and increase our faith in God.

On June 30th, I was talking to my mom. She told me on Sunday that people from her small group had given via credit card and someone had even offered to finish paying the remaining balance after those transactions posted. I checked my account that day and nothing had changed. I contacted Greg, our squad mentor, around 10 pm, to let him know that I would be late reaching the deadline but that I knew where the money was coming from. I had decided that I was going to be okay with not reaching the deadline on time.

At about 11:30 pm, I decided to check my account one more time before I went to bed. I logged in, clicked on the support info and there it was.

An anonymous donation had been sent through on June 27th for $1,860. Another anonymous donation had come in for $660 and a really good friend of mine had given on the 28th as well.

God had definitely provided. He FULLY provided. More than I even asked for.

I just wanted to jump, dance, shout and sing! God had done it again. He moved upon the hearts of people to give and they gave.

Thank you, Lord!!! Thank you so much!!!

Thank you, supporters!!! You have gone above and beyond the call. I pray that God truly blesses you for all of your support to fund this journey.
