This past Sunday we hosted a spa day for the girls at our ministry site.
We had so much fun giving them facial massages, hand massages, painted their nails and braiding their hair.
Tammy Jo, one of my teammates, shared her testimony of how God delivered her from a life of cutting and depression. It really resonated with a lot of the girls. God has been so good to us this month. He has allowed us to share the love of Jesus with these girls through spa days, hugs, and just a simple smile.
We shared with the girls this verse from Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” A few of them stood up and shared how they were told that inner beauty is what really matters, but they never believed it or understood it until this stage in their life. The whole day reminded me of the verse in 1 Samuel 16:7 “…The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Not being able to speak Spanish fluently and have a conversation with the girls and get to know them better one-on-one, has been one of the hardest things for me this month. But despite all of that, I have grown to love these girls and it hurts to think that in a couple of weeks we will be on our way to Peru and I won’t get to see them everyday.
Please pray for them. Pray that God opens their eyes to His truth. Pray that they finish the program strong. Pray that they love each other well. Pray that they stay clean and off the streets of Bolivia.
I couldn’t have dreamed of a better ministry to work with this month. God is doing amazing things here in Bolivia and I’m so honored and thankful to be apart of it.
The April 1st deadline is quickly approaching and I am still in need of $548 to continue on the World Race. I trust and believe that God will provide but I can’t do this alone. If you are able to support me financially, please click on the ‘Support Me’ link on the left hand side. Your prayers are also greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for all of your support.
