I had my first fundraiser this past weekend and it was a success!! I'm so thankful for all of the people who ordered fish dinners or gave a donation and for my family who helped cook and deliver the meals. With the money we raised I was able to purchase my plane tickets to training camp!! Yay! God is SO good! 🙂

I have issued a cry for help to my friends and family on Facebook. I have asked for 100 people to give $20 towards my trip before Sept. 28th. I would then have my first deadline of $3,000 met.

Raising funds has proved to be harder than I had anticipated. But I will not give up! I wrote my fundraising letter, mailed/passed them out to family and friends, and then I waited. I got a few responses but nothing like I had hoped. This whole process is teaching me to truly rely on God to provide for me. I have a tendency to do things on my own but with this race, I'm not able to do ANY of this on my own.

I need God's help and I need your help.

The KLOVE's verse for today was exactly what I needed to read.

"You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." Matthew 17:20, NLT

I love this verse. It constantly reminds me that my faith doesn't have to be HUGE but I need just enough, the size of a mustard seed, to move mountains.

So I'm deciding to have more faith and watch these mountains move!

Love you all,

Benita
