“It is abnormal for a Believer to not have a hungering for the impossible. We were given the same Spirit as Jesus, it is written our DNA.” Bill Johnson
Pursuing the Kingdom is beautiful. And rewarding. But, it is also costly. Many misunderstandings come when you choose to pursue what most ignore. When you choose to believe and live out “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8).
I am passionate about healing. It is how I met the Lord, and afterwards I needed to see the Gospel I had experienced lived out daily as it was in print. And attending Bethel Church and learning under men like Bill Johnson, Todd White, Steve Hale, and Scott Thompson has only fed gasoline to the fire that burns within for more of God. Father has blessed me to walk in and see over 100 healings over the past year. But, He gave me a new word. Impart.
That it was time to invite others into the miracle, and enable them to walk in the beauty and power of Father. To raise up and be a part of a generation that bold charges the throne of the Father.
Here is the story of bringing my squad-mate Katy Steele, a woman of faith and love, into a moment of true redemption and beauty in Guatemala.
As members of our squad sat and strategized about a service night of giving out free meals to the people at the hospital next door, we felt a stirring in our hearts. A yearning to see Father move in mighty waves.
Food was passed out, and people dispersed to strike up conversations with locals. I noticed a group praying fervently, and decided to approach them. I asked in Spanish if anyone had any pain in their bodies. One lady, named Maria, began to speak very fast and point at her knees. Not knowing much Spanish, I prayed, and heard “Call for Katy.” So, a friend ran and got Katy, who speaks fluent Spanish, and she began to translate. She shared that Maria’s knees were in so much pain that she could not walk, and even bending at the knee brought about immense pain. So, I put my hand on her knee, and called to Father. As I spoke, Katy translated. I asked Katy to see if her knees still hurt, and Maria told her “No!”
Immediately after, another lady named Candeleria approached and began to share with Katy. She explained that her back was in extreme pain. Once again, Father took the pain away. She then told Katy it was also painful to breath because of an ulcer/cyst in her lungs. I prayed once more, and asked for her to take a deep breath, and a smile came forth that could light an abyss. I shared with Katy what I felt Papa wanted to tell them, and Katy translated to them in words that could carried love and grace.
The ladies praised God, and began to share with the group what had happened. A moment that seemed to stand still in time. For the first time, they felt the love of the Father. They felt that He KNEW them.
“I have never seen that. That was crazy.” Katy shared with me.
As we walked and talked the rest of the night, Katy seemed to walk a little different. A floating in air of sorts. Her eyes seemed to shine just a little bit brighter. And I watched as a new fire was lit in her soul, and she began to prayer walk the hospital. Talking to each patient that passed. Hugging the little kids in the pediatric ward, and assembling prayer groups over ill patients in their rooms. I looked at Katy, and saw the Lion of Judah in her element. Trampling on the darkness and rejoicing in the goodness of Father.
A story is a character that wants something, and overcomes conflict to get. What I witnessed that night was more than just a miracle of healing, but a miracle of growth as well. I got to witness someone approach the ledge of everything they knew, take a leap over the edge, only to find they could fly higher than a human mind could imagine.
So, take a step of faith today. My Father loves to show up, and show off. Don’t believe me, give it a shot.
