It’s the start of a new day and we
enter the class to do a VBS. Here we are standing in front of a group of sixth
to tenth graders. Crystal and I were sharing in depth about the life of Jesus
and how Jesus relates to us in every way as He became a human and lived like
us. The second part of our talk is where the rubber really met the road. We
asked the kids to right down some questions for us about God. We began to
answer some of them one by one, when I pick up one of the pieces of crumpled
paper and it read, “Can we talk to Jesus, and can you show me how?”

Crystal and I answered that question
by doing what that student asked. We both began to pray and I explained to them
how God desired an intimate relationship with us and how I had one with Him as
well. I asked with everything in me for God to reveal Himself to them as I
prayed and that He would speak to their hearts. As we prayed an immensely thick
presence of the Holy Spirit filled the room and I know that the students
experienced something new and real that day. I asked at the end if they had
felt something different as we spoke to God and many nodded yes with smiles on
their faces.

When we call, He answers, when we
seek His face, He meets us where we are at. His presence is so real and He
desires everyone to feel it, to know Him, and to be in an intensely intimate relationship
with Him. He is so alive… and I know those students felt something they never
felt before that day. I pray that they will come to know Him and I’m thankful
that some did dedicate their lives to Christ as we ministered within the school
this past month. Praise the Lord!

Please check out this amazing video
made by my teammate Beka. It’s an excellent portrayal of the students we
ministered to in the GEMS Nepal school:
