My calling to the World Race was a long process, I initially discovered it by accident, but was immediately captivated by it. I was living in Guatemala when I came across it, simply searching out curiosity for another potential missions opportunity. You see this trip was different unlike anything I’d ever seen, a call to something that was way BEYOND myself, but exactly the kind of person God intended for me to BE.
When I first found it I had a deep desire to go, but had a lot things HOLDING me back. As nearly two years passed the trip had not escaped my mind… God brought forth the changes that needed to come to make this plan a reality. My desire to go and the peace I had about the trip increased as I neared going through with my application. The trip seemed to never escape my mind and I felt as if God was bringing me back to the World Race website to show me a part of HIS LARGER PLAN for my life. Everything about this trip fed into my passion towards missions and the burden God has placed on my heart for the “LEAST OF THESE” (Matthew 25:40).
I entered in on faith and was graciously accepted! I’m so glad to to have this opportunity to grow closer to God and discover more of the incredible plans He has for me. I know this is another step towards a life of total surrender to Him. A hard life, but one I would never trade for anything!
