Introducing Team Dunamis!!!

power
-Power for performing miracles
-Power

-“Mighty works. Actual actions and achievements of such magnitude that they inspire a
sense of wonder in others”
-“It is not static. Once this power is set in motion, it continues
to move, work, and accomplish.”
 
“But you will receive power(dunamis) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
                                                                                        -Jesus Acts 1:8
 
 I love every member on this team, and I can already see how each person’s gifts and talents complement each other into a well rounded team.
 
So where do we get off calling ourselves Dunamis?
I believe that God gives all Believers access to incredible power(Dunamis) through the Holy Spirit. And I believe that God has and wants to continue to empower our team to do mighty things for Him next year.
 
The first night as a team we did a team name brainstorm. Anything you threw out there was fair game. While some of my favorite names were quickly overruled (“The Baby Healers” for one)  I knew that when the right name came out we would know it in our souls. We did not find the right name that first night, but the next day Brenda showed us the word Dunamis in her journal with some definitions she wrote down a few months earlier. As soon as I heard the word I knew that it spoke Truth over what God was making our team into: a Spirit-filled community of Christ followers that powerfully ushers people into the Joy that is the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
 
Being a member of Dunamis means that I have to shake of the complacency that I have often allowed myself to live in and step into the incredible things God is doing around me every single day. It is not an easy step. Its so much easier and more comfortable to live complacent, to live shut of from the power of his Spirit, but I know that only by tapping into the unknown,  stepping into the power and life that God offers through the Holy Spirit. will God be able to use me bring the Joy that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ into people’s lives.
 
This step isn’t only for me. Its for every Christ follower who wants to become more intimate with their God.
