Hello everyone! This is the start of an amazing and life changing journey! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Benjamin Batman but I go by Ben. I also go by Batman because why not? I am 18 and currently dual enrolled at Central Virginia Community College in their Associates in Engineering program. This May I will be officially graduating high school 12 credits away from my Associates Degree. Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to be an engineer but just in the last year I have narrowed down the field I would like to pursue to biomedical engineering. If you’re like most people, you probably don’t know what all that encompasses. To keep it short, it covers a broad range of topics, such as genetics which is the field of study I plan to go into. Eventually I hope to find and develop a cure for autism. This is one of my life goals because for two years now I have felt that children, specifically autistic children have been my calling. It absolutely breaks my heart seeing kids who deal with the effects of Autism every day of their life. Whether or not this is a realistic and attainable goal, I don’t know, but hey, dream big right?

Aside from this, I run cross country and track with the Patriot Pacers and have performed with City On A Hill Youth Theater for 3 and a half years now, currently in my 7th production with them. Up until about a month ago, I had been planning on going to college but after learning about the The World Race from a friend, Emily Duncan, who some of you reading this will know her, (thank you Emily:)) I began looking into what it actually was. After doing some research and praying about it for a few days, I decided to jump into it, apply and see where the Lord took it! I was accepted and now in September, my fellow team members and I embark on a life changing nine month journey to Romania, Ukraine, Chile, Peru and India to serve the needs of the individual cities whatever they be and spread the awesome message of Jesus Christ with the goal of radically transforming lives.

God has already done so much in my life over the past two months. So much that I’m a little in shock of it all. I can’t wait to see what else He has in store for me personally and my team members.

Also, found this really great Italian proverb today: “At the end of the game, pawns and kings go back into the same box“. Really good food for thought and I just like cool and thought provoking sayings.

Any prayer and support would be amazing!
