That, my friends is a true statement. The well pumped water based of solar power. So when it was cloudy, there was no water. Meaning, I didn’t shower those days…

From December 9th:

Debrief was awesome. It was filled with joy, laughter, rest, and relaxation. Just like God showed me it was going to be. You see, while I was still in Vietnam, The Lord ave me a picture of what debrief would look like. And that’s what ended up happening.
And. I got to raft the Nile River! It was awesome!!

Our first few days at our ministry site were a little crazy and very overwhelming. We didn’t actually meet our host. Someone came and got us from Kampala. And then just dropped us off at the ministry school compound in Wakiso. So we just started learning by going with the flow. The Lord was good to us in that we ha a couple people we could talk to to learn more about the school and what happens here.

So, we’re at Wakiso Children’s School of Hope Primary. It’s during one of their major breaks l. And so we’re just here on campus to love on 16-20 orphans that don’t have anywhere else to go. Aunt Favor makes our meals for us–delicious carbs like rice and pasta and cabbage. Needless to say, I’ve been adding some peanut butter. (Okay, maybe a lot of peanut butter, but not as much as others on my team.) And our bathrooms are interesting. No doors on the bathroom stalls/shower stalls. So, we’ve been taking turns going to the bathroom, taking a buddy to make sure that no one walks in on the person.

We don’t have a set schedule. But we’re thinking about a VBS. So we’ll see what The Lord has for us this month!
But yeah, that’s like right now.

From December 29th:
Our month was full. Full of grace. Full of The Lord.

I was kinda in a weird spot “ministry-wise.” I didn’t really know what The Lord wanted me to really invest in. So I ended up spending a lot of time praying for the team and what they were doing–which was great.
Anna headed up a VBS for the kids on the compound and in the surrounding villages.
BJ preached a series of teachings about fatherhood to the church members.
And Diane and Brady were at the forefront of doing door-to-door evangelism and some ATL ministry.
It was awesome to see the team step into what God was leading them to do this month, and to see how The Lord responded to it.
I went one afternoon with Brady, Diane, and BJ, as well as some church members to do door-to-door evangelism. And The Lord brought us to a man’s house. The Spirit was working and moving, and John is now a brother in Christ. Praise The Lord!
We went to Kampala for one weekend to meet our ministry contact and attend his church. It was great to meet Pastor Joshua and get to talk to him for a while. We also helped out with the children’s service that day. And then in the afternoon we went door-to-door preaching. I found a couple kids, and I just danced with them and laughed with them.

Christmas Eve the team went caroling to the houses on campus. It was so nice to sing our beloved Christmas carols.

Christmas Day we went to a church service. And we are CHICKEN for lunch! (What a treat!!) After lunch we spent some time with the church members. And we had a quiet evening. It will definitely be a Christmas I won’t forget.

Uganda has been good. But I am excited to see what The Lord has in store for us in Rwanda!
