My favorite day this past week was Wednesday. So I thought I would walk you through my day.
5:15 – Wake up and get ready (This includes a cool shower. This is really the only time of the day that the water is relatively cool.)
6:00 – Team devotion (We got together with our contacts and listened to a podcast together and prayed together.)
6:30 – Morning work duties (Some help with breakfast prep. Others clean the toilets. Marin, Anna and I swept up some of the loose leaves and trash and just made the grounds look a little nicer.)
7:00 – Help set up for breakfast (I was done with the morning work, so I helped get things set up for breakfast. And then I pulled out my ukulele for a little bit and practiced and worshiped.)
7:30 – BREAKFAST (Meals are always delicious. Seriously.)
8:00 – Clean dishes. (BJ and I were on breakfast dishes duty this week. And it was a delight to talk to him while we cleaned up all the dishes.)
8:30-9:30 – We prepped for our English classes and Bible Study that would happen later on in the afternoon. Brady and I would plan out what exactly we would want to do.
9:30-10:30 – Morning Bible Study with some of the church members. I think BJ spoke that morning about who God is and some of His characteristics.
10:30-11:00 – I helped with lunch prep. (You all know how much I love to be in the kitchen! So this is one of my favorite parts of the day–when I get to help cook and just talk.)
11:00-11:45 – I played my ukulele for a while and helped out around the campus with whatever needed to be done.
11:45-1:00 – We traveled to the lake to eat lunch and to celebrate our contact’s birthday and their anniversary! It was a beautiful day to be out on the water…I just stuck my feet in. But it was a wonderful relief from the heat.
1:00-1:30 – We got ready to go to Kurokusay Village for our English class and Bible Study.
1:30-3:30 – We traveled to Kurokusay Village. I led in teaching the English class. And then Brady taught the Bible study that day. (We teach English under a church member’s house. And then the Bible study is in front of one of the church member’s store in the village. The church members in Kurokusay Village are very new in the faith–maybe just a few months old. But they desire to know God and go deeper into Him.)
3:30-5:30 – We just hung out. I played some ukulele–to get ready for later that evening.
5:30-7:00 – We had a prayer meeting for the church. It was awesome. I love prayer. Love it. And it was so good to gather with believers and just pray. Pray for their community. For the people around them that don’t know the Lord. It was just so good.
7:00-7:45 – Dinner!
7:45-9:45 – Team time. We’ve been sharing testimonies. So someone went that night.
9:45 – Sleep Time!
So, this week has been great. Hard. But great. The Lord has been working in my heart and life in so many ways. I’ll write a little more about that in another post.
Blessings.
