We’re all broken.
One way or another, we’re all broken.
Sin is the cause of our brokenness.
And if left unchecked, it can ruin lives.
This is why I’m thankful for the gospel.
The Savior came down and sacrificed Himself that He might cover us with His righteousness and make us whole.
He took our sin, our ugliness, our brokenness and exchanged it for beauty.
It’s because of the gospel that we’re able to live for the glory of God.
It’s through the gospel of grace that we’re forgiven and set free from the power of sin.
Broken people become humble people through the gospel.
And it’s through the gospel that God brings together a people for Himself.
He brings together the Body to serve and love one another.
The Body also spurs one another on to love and good deeds.
It also points out sin in one another lives. We’re brought into community that we might be able to help one another live to the glory of God. Members of the Body aren’t called to let sin drag each other down, but we’re called to help each other pursue lives of godliness, pursue lives knowing and loving the Almighty.
Friends, let us fight the good fight. May we lean into Christ, so that we may withstand any temptation of sin that so easily entangles us and would disqualify us from the race. Let us set our gaze firmly on Christ in the Heavenly Realms. And through the Holy Spirit, may we have the power to overcome this world. We need Christ. We need His grace daily. We need to be reminded of the gospel every single moment. Because it is by His grace we live and move and breathe.
I’m thankful for the gospel.
I’m thankful for community.
And I’m thankful that the Lord pursues us.
