I love Chinese food.
All Asian food for that matter.
I love it.
Why?
I don’t really know why, maybe it’s all the noodles and rice and yummy spices.
But I do.
So we go get Chinese food a lot in my house.
We tend to go to this little place called Rising Star. But the fortune cookies they have don’t have good fortunes.
They really don’t.
The places that have the best fortunes are Panda Express and Pei Wei.
The weird thing: Pei Wei’s fortunes almost always come true in my life…..
I’m not even kidding!
For instance, right before I moved to NC in 2011, we went to Pei Wei as a farewell dinner.
This was my fortune:
I mean, how crazy is that!
And Raleigh really did become my home. I didn’t quite feel like it was home till I lived there for a little while, but it did become a wonderful home.
Anyway, I went to Pei Wei a week or so ago and got a fortune from my fortune cookie.
And it was crazy.
By crazy I mean completely true of my life right now.
Um…guess who will be doing a lot of travelling over the next year and a half?!
And guess who will most definitely come back completely different?!
I’m telling you, Pei Wei’s fortunes are crazy accurate.
So. I was thinking about my upcoming adventures.
Not just the World Race, but going to NC to visit my family there, and going on a cruise to Alaska with my mom, sister, and some extended family.
There’s so much coming up.
And I know the Lord is going to use it all to change me and mold me into the image of Christ.
At least that’s my prayer. That’s my hope.
That no matter what I do or where I go or who I hang out with, that it will all shape me into the person the Lord wants me to be–someone who will bring Him great glory.
I have recently fallen in love with the group Rend Collective Experiment, and by recently I mean like within the last couple of days.
One of the songs, “True Intimacy,” describes my heart, my prayer for my life.
One of the lines says, “You’re the reason my heart’s beating.”
Oh so true!
I belong to Christ! I am His! He is mine!
We have this crazy relationship that He has given me. And I have the awesome privilege of giving up everything I am and have to follow after Him and love Him. It’s truly beautiful.
