So I go to The Journey Fellowship. It’s a wonderful Body of Christ that seeks to serve Him and love Him. I’ve loved serving there the past 5 months, and i’m looking forward to the time that I still have there over the next 8 months.
We’re doing something to ring in the new year that I’ve never heard of before. We’re doing a Bible Reading Marathon. We want to bring in the new year by spending a lot of time in God’s Word. It starts tomorrow afternoon and it will go all the way to New Year’s Eve. There are 30-minute slots in which people will go up to the church building and read for the time they are allotted. The plan is to read the Bible cover to cover in those 80 hours.
I’m excited to participate. In my excitement, I signed up for quite a few slots. So the church building will practically be my home over those few days, since I’ll be up there reading and listening a lot.
The thing I love the most about this is that we’re focusing on God’s Word. It’s nothing fancy. I mean, it’s just going to be simple people reading the powerful Word of God. What a privilege we have to read His Word and proclaim it!
With the new year comes “New Year’s Resolutions”….
Blah. Blah. Blah.
I used to be super into them. But I would always end up super discouraged every year when I was breaking them by February. They seemed pointless.
So now, every year my “resolution” is the same. Really, you could say that I work hard to achieve my life purpose. I strive with each new year to make the most of my time and bring the most glory I can to the King Eternal. I seek to know Him and trust Him through whatever may come my way. I seek to love Him more each year.
So, yeah. Another year, but still the same goal/purpose.
I can’t wait to see what the Lord will bring my way in 2014.
