Change used to scare me, and sometimes it still does, but it excites and pushes me to rely more on Him.
These past two weeks have been crazy and filled with change. As The Center for Global Action (CGA) leadership team here at Adventures in Missions, we have been praying a lot about CGA Thailand.
The plan was to launch in Thailand in January. I would be the base leader for this discipleship program.
Through a lot of prayer, we have come to the decision that the timing of this program is not right. We want to launch this program with as much support and resources as possible to make sure this program is a success.
I believe that the Lord has shown me that although I was willing lead the CGA program, I do not think I am the best fit. After being here in Gainesville for about 2 months and working on putting a course together, I have learned that this position does not line up with my passions and giftings.
This was a hard thing for me to bring up to my boss, since I had committed for a year, but Seth Jr, instead of being disappointed in me, helped me to begin to search for a position with Adventures that would line up with these passions and giftings. (Just one of the many reasons that I love working with an organization that cares more about people than the jobs that need to get done).
Less than week after this conversation (aka yesterday), I got a phone call about an opportunity to take over a leadership position with Adventures on a short term trip in Nicaragua for a month.
This is what I love, this is what I’m gifted in. I love working with people one-on-one. I love jumping into the unknown. I love that I am packing my bag and leaving in 2 days.
Jesus knows me and knows my desires. I am so thankful for the time I spent in the CGA Department. I love that leadership team that I was part of. I love that I got to go through hard and great times with them. I feel so supported by them in the new transition and I am so thankful that the Lord is leading me every step of the way!
As for what’s next for me after this, I will be traveling straight from Nicaragua to Malaysia to meet up with C-Squad (the World Race squad I led for 5 months) for their final debrief. Then I’ll be home for Thanksgiving. I plan to continue working for Adventures in Missions after this and I am still raising funds as a full-time missionary.
