Today
I read a great blog by Justine Zin’s, a racer from the October’09 Squad. She
mentioned how she had listened to a podcast by Graham Cook called “Living from
a Place of Dreaming” I was fascinated by what she had written so decided to download
and listen to it. Yeah it was amazing, I recommend it! As a result, this is
what stirred within me….
THESE ARE THE
DAYS OF DREAMS COMING TRUE
Kids think big. When I was
little and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I remember
excitingly telling them, “I want to be an ice skater!!!” I even have a poster
to prove it! Despite the fact that I was a horrible ice skater and had only gone
just a few times, I actually believed it was possible! At another point in
time, I wanted to be a gymnast, and although I wasn’t even flexible enough to
touch my toes, I still believed it was possible! There was absolutely no logic, no reason and no limit to my dreams.
I want to live like that–in
a dream mindset of possibility instead of impossibilities, where there is
absolutely no logic and no limit to my dreams, where the faith of a child
consumes me, and where impossible defines nothing.
SUNSET CAPETOWN SOUTH AFRICA may’08 Ephesians
3:20~ “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably
more thanALL we can ask or
imagine according to his power that is at work within us…”
The limit of our relationships
is the limit of our requests…When God tells us to go to a place of asking he is
not saying to go to a place of logic, he’s not talking about what’s reasonable,
He’s talking about imagination!
What’s
worse than our dreams not coming true, I believe, is having no dreams to begin
with. How can we make something happen if there’s nothing we want to happen?
When
we live being okay with logical dreams we live earthbound, keeping God in a
box! Oh wait, God doesn’t live in a box, quite frankly, I don’t even think they
make one big enough for him to fit in…He’s HUGE!
The
enemy is a dream stealer. He wants us to stay satisfied with what is reasonable
and what is good. The enemy of good, however, is better. If we are satisfied with
good, we will always miss what is better.
SUNRISE in MOZAMBIQUE jul08 Today I found myself saying, “I
am not a dreamer.” Looking back now, just hours later, I realize that was a
really stupid comment! It makes me wonder… when did I lose my imagination? When
did I stop dreaming big dreams and replacing them with ones that make sense? I need to get back to the place of dreaming,
not just for a visit, but to live life from there!
It’s
time that we go beyond the ordinary to the extraordinary! We have serious stuff
to do in this world and we need people who can access God at this level of
dreaming! Our wildest imaginations are not even close to what He has planned! These
are the days of dreams coming true.
If we really
believe in who we say we believe in, we will live differently!!!
