Does anyone remember the episode from ‘Boy Meets World’ when
Sean moves into the apartment with his long-lost older brother? He brings with
him a cassette tape that he puts on every night when he goes to sleep. It is
noises of trucks driving along, cars speeding by, even occasional horns
honking. His brother is annoyed with it. But Sean said it makes him feel right
at home. He had lived his whole life until then with his dad in a trailer park.
Those were the sounds he fell asleep to every night.

We have those same sounds here. Zion’s Gate, where we are
staying this month in Honduras, is a property off a major road leading out of
Tegucigalpa. There are constantly, day and night, cars and trucks driving up
and down this road. We joke because you often have to pause multiple times
during your conversation because there is no point in trying to talk over it.

While I grew up with absolutely nothing that sounded like
this highway, thinking of that Boy Meets World episode, I can’t help but feel right
at home.
