“It’s not over until God says it’s over” was written across the top of the red construction paper.  Beneath were cut-out magazine pictures of families, houses, and a car.  This was the dream board of one of the twenty-two women who attended a women’s community conference at our ministry camp.

McKenzie, Kaiti, and I were blessed with the opportunity to help organize this women’s program alongside our Zimbabwe friends and host based on the theme of dreaming with the Lord.  It came at the perfect time as we had just spent our Bulgaria debrief dreaming about what life after the Race could look like.

The two days were full of authenticity, laughter, deep conversation, and games all centered on how we were created for a purpose and to pursue the dreams the Lord puts on our hearts.

At the end of the first day, we brought out stacks of magazines from our host Shelley, glue, and construction paper.  Our friend Lois asked the ladies to think about the dreams they had as little girls, the gifts they felt the Lord had blessed them with, and things they wanted to see different in their community and to create a dream board as a reminder of these hopes.

Afterwards some of the women’s boards showed dreams of marriage, children, having a home, working for orphanages, having grateful hearts for gifts, being known as a trustworthy friend, and having a steady job.

At the very end of the conference I shared a bit of my testimony along with an invitation to salvation.  I asked women to repeat my prayer if they wanted to make Christ the king of their life and to experience the freedom that comes with being His daughter.  The majority of the women prayed with us to dedicate or rededicate their lives.

“It’s not over until God says it’s over” rang true as these women invited God to take the steering wheels of their lives and trusted Him to never abandon them or their dreams.
