Happy Easter from Cambodia!

Because it’s Cambodian New Year, my kiddos are taking a break from learning weather vocabulary and the English alphabet to celebrate with their families and have water fights in the streets. This means that my team is also taking a little family vacation. We were blessed by Mikayla’s parents with a three-night stay in a bungalow right next to the beach. Thank you so much Pearson family!

As I was having my personal Easter service this morning on the beach, I worshipped to the song “Pieces” by Bethel and was struck by the lines, “Your love keeps its promises. It keeps its word. It honors what’s sacred, cause its vows are good.”

Today we remember God’s promise to save us from the penalty we deserve. To save us from an eternity without Him. He never was required to make these promises to us, but still He prophesized about Jesus saying, “He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted (Isaiah 53:4).

Like the saltwater in this ocean that crashes over me and makes me clean, this sacrifice makes me without fault to a God that deserves perfection. It’s the most precious thing in the world.

There is so much joy in worshipping a God who keeps this promise and so many more! Unlike people who constantly change their minds or take back their decisions, my God is constant and trustworthy.

I hope you and your families find joy in these promises today.

I also encourage you to eat a chocolate bunny (or two…or three…) for me.
Happy Easter!
