Today in class I had a guest speaker from the guidance office come in and talk with my students about their careers.  At the end of the hour, these 7th grade students took their career quizzes which showed their top results.  The room was suddenly filled with the chatter of, “What was your top result?”, “I’m going to be a musician!”, and from one poor girl, “I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be a taxidermist.”

As the kiddos were talking excitedly about their careers, I started to think about my own career.  It’s such a defining part about who a person is that we even introduce ourselves with our career tite attached to our names.  At this point in life, I’m not even sure about what attachment I would give myself.

During this reflection, I feel God reassuring me that it’s okay to not have that permanent title at the end of my name.  Right now I might be ‘Becca Bronson Patiently Waiting for God’s Next Direction’ or ‘Becca Bronson Stepping Out in Faith.’  This season is a time to grow even in the uncertainty.

One title I might give myself right now is ‘Becca Bronson World Race Training Camper’ because in just two days I will finally be arriving at training camp (insert excited screams here), and I will get to meet my family of Racers for 2017!  A few prayers I have for training camp are:

-Safety in travel to Atlanta and back

-Unity in my squad (large group)

-Unity in my small team that they choose at camp

-Spiritual strength to have open and honest communication with the squad

I am so excited about this next step in my World Race journey, and I will send out post camp updates when I get back in November.

Thank you for your prayers!
