Recently, I was chatting with a Christian friend of mine about my insecurities over fundraising.  My friend responded by sharing his knowledge about George Mueller, who was a missionary living in England in the 1800’s.  Mueller noticed the large amount of orphans living in England and felt God calling him to open orphanages in order to care for the children.  Because Mueller responded to this call, hundreds of orphans were given a home.

Mueller was also known for his incredible faith and prayer.  Running his orphanages was expensive, but Mueller decided never to ask others for financial help.  He would pray about his needs (feeding hundreds of children at a time) and knew that God would somehow provide everything that was needed.  Sometimes, Mueller sat down with the orphans without any food on the table, prayed for God to provide, and someone would appear at the door with just enough food for the orphanage.  Mueller never told the community what was needed, however God provided every single time.  I’m attaching a link about Mueller that explains his incredible faith and how God answered his prayers.

As I plan for the World Race, I want to be preparing myself spiritually instead of just worrying about finances.  I trust that there is a reason I felt called to apply, and God can easily provide money if he wants me to go.  I am praying that God provides, but I am also praying that He prepares me for being away from home and facing spiritual difficulties. I am excited to see the ways that God provides for me and prepares me in the coming months.
