My name is Becca Bronson and I am 23 years old from Appleton, Wisconsin. I love hazelnut coffee, swimming, daisies, and F.Scott Fitzgerald. I recently graduated from UW Oshkosh with my degree in Secondary Education English. Choosing this degree was easy because I have a deep love of literature (Harry Potter, Paper Towns, and anything from Thoreau and Whitman are some of my favorites), and I also enjoy working with young adults.
Around last summer I started praying over my future career and was convinced that I would still be led to teaching English. Feeling a call towards missions completely changed my plan, and it took quite awhile before I finally committed to applying to the World Race. During this time I was reminded of the two summers I spent in Swaziland with the organization Hosea’s Heart, and how during that time I felt God might include missions as a large part of my future. Since being accepted, I have been reassured through scripture and prayer that leaving in January is where God wants me to be during 2017.
As I prepare for the Race, one verse has continually popped out to me. Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” I love that in this verse, God says we don’t need to fight our battles all on our own, because He will take care of the battles himself. During this season of fundraising and preparation, this verse has been a continual reminder to lean on God in the hard moments.

Thank you for your support,
Becca
