Thailand has been an awesome place to spend November. We made a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for our teams and our awesome British hosts. There were some moments when we all wondered if everything would be cooked well, if there would be enough food, and if our oven could handle all of the cooking we were doing so it was basically an American Thanksgiving in every way, except that it was in Thailand and the fact that we were on a tight budget so instead of using butter we used an orange mystery goo called “fat compound.” Honestly, the makers of this delectable cooking product could have changed the name to leave more up to the imagination because the name that they chose, while accurate, doesn’t paint a promising picture for all of our vital organs especially since we put this material in all of the dishes at our Thanksgiving dinner, but what I’m really trying to say is there are so many other things that I am thankful for from this month as well as my World Race family and Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for my team: Jacquie, Andrea, Celeste, Nadia, Rachael, and Lynn! They are awesome!

I am thankful for team Favored 414: Ashley, Alex, Kirby, Shelli, and Julie! I love living with them and getting to know more of the J squad.

I am thankful for the girls on the Passport team we’ve been living with this month: Gloriel, Radha, Autumn, Allison, Kendra, Jalin-Irene, and Katie. They are women of God full of love and wisdom.

I am thankful for our wonderful hosts and the work they do in Thailand to help empower women. Their story has amazed me and their faith in God has challenged me to trust God more in my own life.

Finally, a more recent thing I am thankful for is the couple from Colorado that we met while we were praying on Bangla. I was having a particularly hard time that night. I was really frustrated and I was having trouble seeing God working on Bangla Road. We went to go pray for one of our friends that works on Bangla and while we were praying for her I noticed this couple next to us. I felt the need to talk to them but I waited until after our prayer. When we were finished, the woman asked us if we were missionaries. We started telling her about the World Race and what we were doing and she got excited because she had just been praying for someone to be there to pray for the people on the street. Her and her husband didn’t know how prevalent the sex industry was in Patong so they were taken off guard. The other awesome thing about meeting this couple is that they support a World Racer from their church. They were so excited to meet us and they prayed for us. After meeting them my entire mood changed. I’m so thankful that God provides us with people to uplift us when we need it most.
