NOUN: blog
1. Online journaling
Funny, I didn’t know what the definition of “blogging” was until now. Thanks word web.
I have never blogged before, nor have I ever kept a diary of the happenings in my life so bare with me and my lack of blogging experience!
Where do I start? Lets start with a rhyme!
I will start… with my HEART
I’ll be honest… living out of a backpack, skipping showers, eating poorly, not being able to drink my 75oz of water a day, missing birthdays and holidays with my family, and never having alone time for ELEVEN months is not my cup of tea, however, God is calling me out of selfishness-far away from my comfort zone and into the world to make disciples and teach them to make disciples.
When I heard about The World Race from a friend I thought “11 months?! Nah, I cant leave my family, friends, and “comfortable living” for that long!” That’s when Jesus began a work in me… the more I thought of The World Race, the faster my heart would beat and the more my selfishness began to dwindle away. I googled it, watched videos and testimonies, and well… I fell in love. My excitement is so overwhelming… I’m really going to do it! I’m going to put my trust in Him who provides strength in weakness-healing in sickness-comfort in pain-beauty in ashes-LIFE in death! I’m going to quit my job, sell my car, raise $18,000, live out of a backpack with a group of other brave young men and women (who are essentially strangers in the beginning) and embark on a journey that will wreck our hearts and touch the lives of the broken. What will I do when I get back? I do not know, nor is it a concern of mine right now. With my hand in Jesus’ hand-I need not fear my future. I need not fear ANYTHING in this life.
“My life is not my own. Jesus paid it all, ALL to Him I owe”
Please pray for me as I begin to prepare for this mission by raising the necessary funds and as The Lord prepares my heart to be left in 11 countries.
