Just One More Time
Today marked our final day at Step Ahead and was therefore full of many “last times”. The
last time we taught English, last drop-in at the Quinley’s, last stir fry from my favorite street vendor….you get the idea. Sad day!
Not surprisingly, Sarah and I had a blast during our last English session with the Phon and Ying. They have learned so much in the three weeks that we’ve been here it’s truly amazing. Comprehension and confidence are on the rise, and I am so very proud of them. True to their generous personalities, they surprised us with a pastry gift shaped like a teddy bear. How cute are they? I am gonna miss you girls!
Class of 2012
Even more fun was the graduation party we got to throw for our community kids. We had snacks, sang songs, passed out certificates…the whole sha-bang. You know you’re in Thailand when the kids mow down the seaweed snack and barely touch the homemade chocolate brownies. Craziness!

Mhin & More
I’m not sure if I told you but Mhin’s younger siblings, Sam and Mind [yes, like your brain], joined our class last week. We also learned, a bit too late, that Mhin's name is
actually "Mint" [yes, like the leaf]. We have been pronouncing it wrong this entire time! These are things you find out when writing up certificates I guess. It has been wild to have them all in the same room together…quite the rambunctious crew. Kids have a way of knowing when to be cute however, and today they were all snuggly and well behaved. Hard to let them go! It’s been really great to be an influence in that family’s life, and we’re trusting God to use our small investment in their lives to impact them in big ways.
The Last Supper
The last big thing we did today was dinner with the Step Ahead Staff. The girls made us a home-cooked Thai meal that was off the hook. Sai also made a video slideshow capturing a few of the things we’ve gotten up to this month. Check it out below.
