Birthday Travels
Travel to our
month-3 ministry location began on September 9th, my birthday. You would think this would put a slightly HUGE damper on any festivities, but my team showed me otherwise! They kept surprising me with crazy, spontaneous, random adventures and activities (which I love) all throughout the day. Just when I thought it was over, those little tricksters threw me a birthday party in our six-bunk train car – crypto cake included! Aren’t they great? They’ve certainly set the bar high for thoughtful birthday fun looking ahead. Can’t wait to spoil them all on their big day. :D.
Back To Bucharest
Our entire X-Squad met back up at the Happy Hostel in Buch
arest, Romania (where we launched from) for a mini-debrief before we headed to India. I loved the feeling of getting off at a familiar train station, and actually knowing where to go and what to expect. Good ol’ Bucharest! It was nice to get caught up with other teams, and have a little down time. A highlight was a bike ride we took in a nearby park. Its b-e-a-utiful there and it was fun to drive…something again! Even if it wasn’t motorized.
Flyin’ OUT
So the next adventure was flying as a group of 50. Shout-Out to Rachel and Mike for everything going amazing! We spent the first night in the airport before our first leg of the journey to Moscow, Russia. While we were sleeping/waiting around we bumped into A-Squad! They were just arriving to Romania for their first month of ministry. Some of their groups were going to the sites we just left so it was fun to throw out a few tips and encouragement.
After a long layover in Moscow we hopped back on the plane for New Dehli, where my teams’ contact met us at the airport. We were exhausted, but everything went super smooth for the most part, and now here we are.
Whats up New Dehli!
