The Here and Now
Half my squad is officially in Bucharest, Romania. Tomorow will give our team leaders a chance to meet, as well as the finance and logistics team members to learn a bit more about the "job description".  The rest of our team comes tomorrow night.

We are staying at the Youth Happy Hostel (Check Itwith 12 of us girls in one room, and the rest of the guys downstairs.  We're super jacked to all have a bed, and there is even a fan in the room!  This was weclomed with open arms after a tiring trek and through the city with our packs. It's 8 hours ahead hear (from CT) and so we're all a bit jet lagged but that should straighten itself out soon enough.

While not too much of the city has been seen by us, so far it has stayed true to the pictures and videos I have seen of Romania prior to our arrival: busy streets, small cars, dense population (in this city) and not a lot of English happening. The picture on the right is our view from the bedroom. I am excited to explore and learn more in the days to come!

Looking Ahead
You'll learn (with me) that things can change on a dime on this trip.  For example, after about a week of training here in Bucharest, the 7 teams that make up my squad will disperse around the country to serve at different ministries.

My team, along with two others, are going to Cornesti, Moldova (just northeast of Romania) to spend the month working there.  Details to come, of course!
