A small thought for this lovely Thursday morning:

In Nehemiah 6, Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem were nearing completion of rebuilding the city walls. Their enemies kept sending messages tying to distract them from the project at hand. After many repeated attempts to get him to abandon the project to meet with them, Nehemiah 6:9 says this:

"They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, 'Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.'

But I prayed, 'Now strengthen my hands.'"

I love Nehemiah's prayer here. So simple and yet so perfect. "Now strengthen my hands." Strengthen the part of me that is being pushed and strained, the part that is growing weary.

Much to the surprise of their enemies, they ended up rebuilding the wall in 52 days. Nehemiah 6:16 says this:

"When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God."

The Lord provided them with strength and endurance for the task at hand, and upon completion everyone around them knew that they had finished with the help of God.
Pretty sweet, yeah?!

Today I encourage you to ask the Lord to strengthen you in the place you are weak. Ask him believing that he will, and when he does make sure you share with other people about it!

Have an incredible day!!!
