Here it is. The day that seemed so far out of reach five months ago.

I am FULLY FUNDED.

All $12,490. Every. single. penny.

Thank you to every one who has donated! Fundraising is so hard and you all have eased that burden with your willingness to give. I was thinking today about how most people have to put together event after event in order to raise money and all I’ve done is a garage sale and posted my fundraising link a few times. You have all responded so well to this new adventure I get to embark on and I couldn’t be more grateful. I am blessed to know a multitude of people who love the Lord and desire to be a part of His Kingdom work.

You have all done your part and enabled me to begin doing mine in just two weeks!

Here are some details for you:

  • I will be working in Guatemala City with a ministry called The Street Revolution. We’ll be involved in relationship based ministry on the streets, sports ministry with street youth, bible clubs with children, tutoring with children, prayer/worship in and around the areas we serve, and possible work in rehab homes (both men & women). Look them up on Facebook or google and see what they’re all about!
  • My team (GEN7) consists of 6 other beautiful ladies who are all crazy about Jesus and the adventures He’s taking us on. You can learn more about each of them and follow their blogs by finding the link (somewhere on my page) that says, “meet my team”. Follow ’em, Facebook friend ’em, and most importantly: pray for ’em! [*EDIT* only two of my team members are on the team page for some reason so here are their names: Rachel Thelen, Shelbie Richardson, Claire Toliver, Mafer Aparicio, Lucretia Jojola, and Darby Lofthus]
  • YES the community I am staying in will be safe. Danger is just as much present in America as it is in Guatemala City. I am not concerned for my safety, nor should you be. God does not give us a spirit of fear but one of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Tim. 1:7). Please do not waste time and energy worrying. Get excited with me!
  • Please pray for myself along with my family and friends these next 10 days as I say goodbye for now. I know it will be difficult for those I am close to (sorry mom and dad) and I ask that you’d keep them in your prayers as we all transition into this new season.
  • WRITE ME LETTERS! I can’t receive mail and I know there will be many days when I am missing home and I would love, love, love to have a letter or card to open. It doesn’t have to be long or all about how much you love me. Tell me a story, write down some scripture or song lyrics, or fill out a Christmas or birthday card. You can date it for when you’d like me to open it or I can decide that along the way. If you’re interested in that, let me know and I’ll send you my address or I can arrange to meet you.
  • Come hug me before I leave! We are having a come and go style going away party on Sunday (8/30) from 3-7pm. Stop by and let me hug your neck! 🙂

It’s happening, y’all! Praise the Lord!
