Carrying around a 50 lb. pack to 12 different countries can be pretty…heavy. And while I’m usually down for a free workout, I wasn’t willing to add too much to that load. So instead of picking up souvenirs in every country, I decided to take a photo in every country with something that symbolizes one of my favorite places in the world (this is a proven fact now and not just an empty phrase) – my UT hat! So here are my favorite photos in each country with my beloved hat. 🙂 And special thanks to everyone who helped me get the perfect photo!!
Country #1: Mozambique
On a beach in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique
Country #2: Swaziland
At the top of a “mountain” on the boarder of Swaziland and South Africa
(and yes, that’s sweat)

Country #3: Madagascar
A photo of lemurs at the airport – I may or may not have forgotten to take a picture with my hat this month haha
Country #4: Malaysia
Another airport photo. TBH, I actually forgot to take a hat picture all together this month, but God gave me another chance when we had a layover in Malaysia when we were traveling from Myanmar to India!
Country #5: Sri Lanka
On the top of Sigiriya Rock, an ancient rock fortress near Dambulla, Sri Lanka (ft. my nose piercing that lasted 20 days because I accidentally bumped it out haha)
Country #6: Thailand
The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand with one of our guides
Country #7: Myanmar
The 2nd year students at Myanmar Bible College
(the hook ’em sign vs. the “I love you” sign – same difference)
Country #8: India
In my saree on the roof of our building in Southern India
Country #9: Nepal
This is a photo of me with my paragliding instructor, Koa, after landing. This was also after I puked mid-flight and he kept reassuring me that it happened all the time.
Country #10: Costa Rica
My first volcano in Central America, Irazú Volcano! I saw this cool rock and needed a picture on top of it.
Country #11: Nicaragua
While in Granada, we went on a boat tour to see some of the 365 tiny islands that were the result of a volcano eruption many years ago. We were lucky enough to be on the water at sunset, where my friend caught me naturally throwing up a hook ’em at the sunset.
Country #12: El Salvador
Watching the sunset with our final ministry at the beach.
Bonus Photo: Bonding with a baby turtle before he returns home into the sea – just before returning home as well.
