Water all around, engulfing everything with no escape, slowly suffocating the body. It was over, death was in the future with no sign of life.

Ok, so maybe I am referring to my phone but long story short It. Is. RISEN!! I had ran outside with my team to grab a quick dinner during our training in a torrential downpour and when we got back, my phone was out. Here I sat, the day before I left for a year, my camera, travel communication source and wifi device, gone.

It would be easy to freak out or stress about what I needed to do to solve this issue. But I knew the Lord could resolve this way better than I ever could. So I placed the phone in rice last night and knew that all I could do was pray. This morning I woke up early, not knowing what I was about to discover. I turned on my phone and after 3 minutes of being frozen, my phone was in full function again!

I know this sounds ridiculous to blog about such a miniscule bump in the road before I approach many greater trials and triumphs, but this experience was such a great reminder for me!

A great reminder to never let anything distract me from my true purpose on the race (to further the kingdom of the Lord).

A great reminder that God CAN raise things from the dead, it's not just a John 11 story.

A great reminder that when a situation feels hopeless, to continually have FAITH and TRUST in the Lord, regardless of the turnout.

A great reminder that we don’t have to go abroad for the Lord to teach us and use us to grow in needed areas.

So now I sit here, writing my experience before I get on a plane to leave my life in the US behind. Acknowledging the fact that my life will NEVER be the same. That I am about to experience God like never before.

I have mourned my old life and I am now ready to RISE up from the DEAD to the new life ahead!

“The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job 33:4
